SSD Volare was born from a simple yet extraordinary idea: sport can change people’s lives. An intuition that took shape thanks to the vision of its founder, Paolo Bonino, and that over time has grown into a concrete project capable of involving athletes, families, and sports organizations throughout Italy.

The first time Italy hosted the Winter Paralympic Games, in Turin in 2006, represented a decisive and inspiring moment for the birth of the project, also thanks to the commitment and vision of Tiziana Nasi, a leading figure in the Italian Paralympic movement.
SSD Volare is a non-profit amateur sports association that promotes wheelchair tennis and, more broadly, sport as a tool for inclusion, personal growth, and sharing. Since 2007, it has organized events, training camps, and tournaments, becoming a point of reference for those who wish to approach this discipline, rediscover confidence in their abilities, and face new challenges with determination.
Volare’s philosophy is reflected in the words of Jim Morrison:
“Every man has two wings, but only those who dream learn to fly.”
And in those of Alex Zanardi, a symbol of courage and resilience:
“And if I can no longer run, nor even walk, I will learn to fly.”

The Trofeo della Mole is the flagship international event of SSD Volare and the pinnacle of its commitment to promoting wheelchair tennis at the highest level.
The Trofeo della Mole represents the most prestigious international event organized by SSD Volare and, over the years, has become one of the leading wheelchair tennis tournaments in Italy.
Now in its 18th edition, the tournament takes another important step forward in 2026, achieving ITF 3 status and offering a total prize money of €14,000. From July 22 to 26, the Circolo della Stampa Sporting in Turin will once again welcome some of the world’s top wheelchair tennis players for five days of high-level competition, sportsmanship and unforgettable emotions.
Organized by SSD Volare in collaboration with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation (FITP), and supported by the Region of Piedmont, the Metropolitan City of Turin, the City of Turin and the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Trofeo della Mole continues to strengthen its reputation on the international wheelchair tennis calendar.
