Volare Ucraina

Launched in 2025, the “Peace ‘N’ Roll” project was created with the ambition of bringing hope and new opportunities to people who have acquired disabilities as a consequence of the war in Ukraine, using wheelchair tennis as a powerful tool for rehabilitation, inclusion and social recovery.

The choice of Ivano-Frankivsk was not accidental. Anteas had already carried out several humanitarian missions in the city, located in western Ukraine and considered one of the safest areas of the country. Thanks to the support of several organizations from the Alessandria area and beyond, SSD Volare organized a day entirely dedicated to wheelchair tennis, including visits to rehabilitation centers, on-court demonstrations, direct involvement of patients and the donation of sports equipment and tennis wheelchairs.

The mission also featured the “Peace ‘N’ Roll” concert and several cultural and social initiatives, reinforcing the message that sport and solidarity can play a key role in rebuilding confidence and improving quality of life.

Although the project is currently on hold due to organizational reasons and the ongoing conflict, SSD Volare is already looking ahead to the future. Among the ideas being considered for the next edition is the development of a long-term legacy through the training of local coaches and instructors, with the goal of helping wheelchair tennis take root and continue to grow in Ukraine.
